Can I use any tea bags or do they need to be a specific brand?
This method uses a specific brand of tea, which is not commercially available in the UK. This is why I have made a bulk purchase of these tea bags and will be sending them out to willing participants for the Tea Bag Index UK project.
Can I use the tea bags before I bury them?
Unfortunately not, using the tea bags before burying them will affect the results so please do not use them.
I don’t really do much with my garden, can I still participate?
Of course! This project is interested in all types of garden management (or lack of) If you have a garden, no matter how well kept, you can take part.
I’m not based in the UK, can I still take part?

I have some woods/ fields/ meadows near where I live, should I put some tea bags in there?
This particular project is interested in gardening practices (particularly soil amendments) and the effects on soil microbial activity. Therefore it is not necessary to put them anywhere other than your garden.
